Receipts: A Beard-Care Brand, a Mac Mini, and an AI That Answers Voice Notes

By Jereme Strange · also on Strange Intel

Theory is cheap. Here's what an actual deployment looks like, start to finish.

The client

A beard-care e-commerce company running on Shopify. Owner busy, no technical background, no interest in becoming a prompt engineer. Exactly the profile everyone claims AI "isn't ready for."

What we installed

His own AI system, on his own Mac Mini, in his own building:

- Telegram bot wired to Claude — he voice-notes it like an employee - Shopify API access — it reads his store: orders, products, customers - A seeded brain — his brand voice, his product catalog, his policies, in the rules file and memory from day one - Auto-start + monitoring — it survives reboots; we health-check it remotely over a secure tunnel without ever touching his Telegram

He asks his bot for sales numbers, product copy, customer follow-ups — by voice, from his phone. It answers in seconds.

The part that matters: the business model

We charged a one-time setup, and a modest monthly for white-glove monitoring. He's paid in full, on time, and just told us — unprompted — that the next installment is coming because the thing *works*.

Why we're telling you this

Because this is repeatable. The stack from the STACK checklist isn't a demo — it's the same install, every time, seeded with a different business. Restaurant, contractor, e-comm brand, law office. If the business has email, a calendar, and customers, the system fits.
